Progress Report

I haven't posted much about the shop lately and I promise you that it's not because I've been neglectful. Most people don't understand why the shop isn't completed yet so here is the reason: we could have taken out a substantial loan and the shop could have been completed months ago. But because that's not our style, we instead save and pay for something in particular that needs to be done (i.e insulation), then we work and save more money to complete another project (i.e large doors). It's coming along slowly but surely and Art has been able to work in the shop (he does say that rolling around on a creeper on limestone isn't nearly as smooth as cement) and it has come in handy in storing our (many) vehicles.

There are two large doors on the shop, one on the south side and one on the east side. The south door was installed awhile ago but we were still looking for a door for the east side. Thanks to Art's frugality, he found exactly what he needed at Sharpless Auctions a few months ago. We had considered paying the door company to intall it, but they didn't seem interested so Art decided to hang it himself. He's doing a wonderful job! There are still two more panels that he needs to install, but he's been in great demand lately (it's harvest) and hasn't had a lot of spare time. We still have a few weeks before the snow starts to fly (I hope) so he has time!
