Little Things

I have a few little farm updates. Nothing huge or even anything that deserves it's own post, but important nonetheless:

1. Rooster #2 has started crowing. It's a sad little screech, but he's trying hard so I don't mock him (not to his face, anyway)

2. We've lost four chickens in the last week. We were concerned about raccoons or possibly a skunk, but I like to go for the more exotic chicken hawk, seeing as how the chickens are locked in at night. It's OK, though, because whenever the ladies start laying, 16 eggs a day would be a bit much.

3. The chickens still aren't laying and it's really starting to tick me off.

4. I haven't forgotten about the watermelon jelly; I just haven't been energized enough to make it. But now that I'm feeling better, I think I will do it this weekend.

See? It wasn't much, but I felt like I needed to post something farm related considering I have been somewhat delinquent in the last few weeks (to no fault of my own, of course).
