Poopy Dog

In the last couple of years our dog, Buddy, has gotten really, really, really lazy. He refuses to go outside for anything but the necessities. Which is why, for the last two days, I've been confused (and disgusted) at coming home and discovering Buddy covered in cow sh*t. It's obvious he's been rolling it, but why would he go outside? His main goal in life is to lay on the couch; when that is not readily available, his goal is to figure out how he can get to the couch in order to lay on it. For him to actually go outside without being forced and actively do something (even if it is rolling in poo) instead of waiting by the door until someone lets him in, is quite amazing. So while I find it gross, I'm just glad he's getting outside. Last weekend we locked him outside with us and you would have thought we were torturing him. Once he finished pacing, he just sat by the door, breathing like he'd just run a marathon. I let him inside, thinking he was frightened, but he went immediately to couch to take a nap. That's when I kicked him outside again for a few more
hours.

It's tough love in the Pronk Household.

I'm glad to hear that Bodi is not the only incredibly lazy dog on the planet. I seriously wonder what is wrong with him. I let him out to pee, he has a whole yard and many things to snuff, and he sits on the porch and cries as though we're torturing him...which I suppose we are, as there are no cushions in the yard. In the morning he sits at the top of the stairs whining until we let him get to his crate in the basement so he can go back to bed. I swear, weekends must be torture for him!

I'm afraid animal rights groups will read this and turn me in for abuse! :)
