First Harvest

This is the first official harvest of the summer- pretty sad, isn't it?  Like I said, my butts are rotting not only on my tomatoes but on my green peppers, too.  I did discover that I can cut the rotted part off, though, so I might be able to make some ketchup after all.  But at least I'm getting tomatoes this year; last year I only harvested, like, five, so this year is an improvement already!

My neighbor was nice enough to give me 7 dozen ears of sweet corn last weekend (they have a huge sweet corn patch that did amazing well this year).  She was nice enough to offer me some (maybe she thought they had enough after freezing 100 quarts...) so I spent Sunday afternoon shucking, boiling, cutting, and freezing corn.

This is what eight dozen shucked cobs (I had a dozen in the fridge) looks like
