A couple of weeks ago Art and I visited Sanibel Island, FL to celebrate my aunt's birthday.   We had a wonderful weekend sitting by the beach, eating seafood, and just relaxing.  I was just happy that we visited before Debbie dumped twenty-five inches of rain there.
On the beach there were a couple of turtle nests roped off.  You're supposed to stay at least fifteen feet away from them and you had to make sure to bring up your beach chair at the end of the day so that the hatching baby turtles have a clear route to the Gulf.  One afternoon Art saw a single baby sea turtle trying to make it's way to the water.  Art being the soft-hearted person he is, picked it up and took it to the water's edge.  But after watching the little thing being swept back on to the beach over and over again, Art picked it up and took it out to deeper waters.  While I told him you're not supposed to touch them, let alone help them, Art said that the turtle could have been trampled with all the people on the beach that day.  After learning that only one in one thousand baby turtles survive, I congratulated Art on saving that one (or at least giving it a good start).
It rained for about twenty minutes on our final afternoon (which is pretty typical for this time of year) but we did like watching the storm move out to sea.
