First Cut

Art cut hay on Saturday- the first cut of the season.  We decided to have the first cut round-baled because we were able to easily sell them last year (and I prefer not to work if I don't have to).  We will square-bale the next to cuts and I'm grateful for the reprieve.
The custom-baling guy was supposed to come Tuesday in the early afternoon, but because everybody and their brother wanted their hay baled he didn't make it until about 6:30.  Art was in a tizzy because the sky looked very ominous and looked like it could rain at any minute.  Fortunately it went South of us and the hay stayed dry.  The guy wasn't able to bale the entire field because of some equipment issues and thought it would be fixed by yesterday morning, but it just didn't work out that way so Art and one of our neighbors finished baling with the square baler.  A modest 80 bales and the field was clean!
