Tunneling

Seeing as the county takes their sweet time to plow our particular road, I couldn't count on them coming through in time to clear the road. Considering I had already taken Tuesday and Wednesday as snow days I felt I really should get back to work. There are a few places on our road that tend to drift, but it has never been anything like this. These pictures are in front our neighbor's house, and he said he doesn't remember it ever drifting this badly. It's far more impressive in the daylight, but this is all you're getting.

Some places were six feet deep! Driving through the tunnel this morning felt very claustrophobic.
On an interesting note, while Art was snow blowing last night, he saw the county snow plow that was finishing clearing the west side of 175th. Art moved out of his way, thinking he would continue across to clear our section, but no. The plow sat there for a few minutes, watching Art trying to blow rock hard snow, and then turned and went back to town. I noticed this morning that all the country roads between 175th and Tipton had been cleared. Cedar country doesn't have a lot to do and it doesn't make sense to finish a job quickly and efficiently and get paid less, so they drag things out, especially when it's overtime.
