Progress Report #2

We finished insulating the ceiling a couple of months ago, but it's just been recently that the contractor has been able to come and place the final panel in the ceiling. Pretty nice, right? We had a company in yesterday that does spray insulation. It's actually less expensive than the regular fiberglass insulation and does a better job of keeping the heat in and the cold out. Art already has the steel for walls (you didn't think we would just leave it looking like we coated the walls with alien brains, did you?) and, thanks again to his frugality, it was extremely inexpensive. He took a trip to Menards yesterday because they were having a sale on re-bar and Pex tubing (for the in-floor heating) and I know he's getting antsy to start laying cement. He's going to work in small sections until he gets a system going, starting on the wall where his benches will be, that way if it's not completely smooth, he doesn't have to worry about rolling a creeper over any ridges.

Harvest is almost done around here and I know that he's looking forward to some downtime. Most people (like myself) would use their downtime to relax, catch up on some reading, maybe take a nap, but Art will be spending his downtime laying cement. It brings him as much pleasure as reading does for me, so I figure whatever keeps him happy!
