Shop Update

They installed a portion of the ceiling in the shop today. Art rented a machine that blows insulation (the cellulose kind, not the fiberglass. It has better R value and isn't itchy) and Friday or Saturday I will get to load the stuff into the machine and Art will blow it, about a foot thick, over the steel sheets. Once that is done, the guys will come and install the other half of the ceiling, leaving one panel down so we can insulate the other half (how we'll get insulation over the last panel, I'm not sure. Art was supposed to ask, but forgot).

Art was also able to buy the steel for the walls from a guy in a neigboring town and paid two-thirds less than what Menards was going to charge. He also purchased a three point cement mixer (it attaches to the back of the tractor and turns it- like a small version of a cement truck) and he's getting anxious to get started on the floor. If you talk to him, tell him you think it's great that he's doing the cement himself; everyone around here thinks he's crazy and is convinced he won't be able to do it, even though he grew up pouring the cement floors at his parents' farm.

Bit by bit it's coming together. Someday it might even be finished!
