It's Like a Used Car Lot....

We now have our requisite "beater" truck. This is a truck that is used primarily for farm stuffs (i.e hauling hay, firewood, quick runs to town). In other words, it gets used and abused but you don't really care because it's the beater truck. It even comes with the customary multi-colored panels and surface rust! It's a 1975 Chevy Super Deluxe (no self respecting farmer would have anything newer than an '85) and the cool part is that the truck bed is on hydraulics so you can lift it and dump...whatever, much like a dump truck.

What about Art's other truck, the Dodge diesel, you ask? Well, that's one of Arts' (many) babies and she stays covered in the barn from the first snow until the rains come to wash off the salt and calcium chloride from the roads. Because who is the enemy? Rust is the enemy!

It's beginning to look like a used car lot around here, you know, the ones that have a lot of vehicles on the lot but none of them look like they run? Or maybe it's a junkyard that I'm thinking of...

It's getting a little ridiculous- we have nine vehicles (including three motorcycles, two of which
don't run) for two people. There is also another truck in the yard (similar to the beater only newer and in better condition) that Art has up for sale (if anyone is interested).

My neighbor called me and actually referred to our driveway as a 'used car lot'. I think that says something...
