Heat Wave

Yesterday was mild but damp- 42 degrees and rainy. I felt a little chilled so I started both the woodstove and the corn stove to help take the chill and the dampness out of the air. By 8:00pm our house was 80 degrees, a definite record for us and certainly the warmest the house has ever been in the colder months. Anyone who has been to our house in the winter can attest to how cold it is- the thermostat is set to 56 degrees (because we're cheap and propane is expensive) and even with the cornstove it was only 62 degrees.
I have to say, though, that it was almost uncomfortably warm last night.
