This winter we have a piece of insulation over the dog door to keep the wind and snow out, but this means that Buddy can't go and do as he pleases when he pleases. Art usually lets him out in the mornings, I let him out when I get home from work and then once again before we go to bed. Yesterday, Art let Buddy out before we left for dinner, but didn't let him out before we went to bed and apparently Buddy 'didn't feel' like going out first thing this morning. So Buddy had gone approximately twelve hours without going to the bathroom. I would have peed my pants five times already. Well, as you can imagine, Buddy had an accident on the rug (why couldn't have just aimed for the wood floor, I'll never know).
Art was pretty mad; he didn't yell at him because Buddy knew he had been bad, but Art did refuse to speak to him for most of the morning. I wasn't upset because it was our fault- in six years Buddy has never had an accident in the house. However, Buddy was not entirely innocent; Art did try and take him out this morning and he refused. I guess he just didn't have to go right then.
I wasn't home when this happened, so Art had to clean up the mess. He will shovel manure all day long and work in really smelly pig barns, but he cannot deal with dog vomit, diarrhea or pee. Once time Linda had diarrhea and Art tried to clean it up, but couldn't because he kept gagging so I had to take over.
So I came home to this:
Art used a half a roll of paper towels to clean up. And then he just left it. I'm not sure if he just couldn't take it anymore or if his ADD kicked in.
