The Love of My Life

"A pair of new shoes might not cure a broken heart or soothe a tension headache,
but they will relieve the symptoms"

Hi, my name is Lindsay and I'm a shoe-aholic. I can't even say (or in this case, type) that with a straight face. They always say the first step is admitting you have a problem, but I really don't think I have a problem. I think I have a genuine love and a descerning eye for shoes. I cleaned out my car last night and I had fifteen pairs of shoes in the back seat. This is because I don't have a sidewalk to my car, so I wear sneakers to the car and put my shoes on when I'm inside (while I could effectively airate the yard, my shoes would get dirty and I just can't have that). When I brought them inside, my shoe shelves were really dirty and disorganized, so I did a little cleaning and organized my shoes. I didn't realize how many pairs of shoes I had. There are twenty-five on the shelf, plus another six that I put in the closet upstairs (sandles- I have to rotate them to another closet because space is limited) . This isn't counting my cute new snow boots and rain boots. I tried to sort out the ones I don't wear anymore, but I love them all and wear them all!

Art gets by with a pair of sneakers and two pairs of dress shoes (he did have only one brown pair that he insisted went with everthing and would even wear them with black pants...I fixed that) and he wonders why I need five pairs of black heels. He just doesn't get it. One is closed toe, another is a peep toe, one is patent leather and another is crocodile print while another has a buckle just for fun. All very different.

The reason I love shoes so much? It's because no matter what body shape I have, how much weight I lose or gain, shoes will always fit. They don't descriminate against the size of my butt or my short stature. In fact, they make me look taller and slimmer. They make me feel good and that's what is important!

My husband has more shoes than me.....that is sad. I need a shoe intervention...I have no clue :) I'd rather wear my pink Converse sneakers with everything.
