Cold Turkey

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We spent time with family and ate like pigs. We did not, however, do any sort of Black Friday shopping- we were on our way home at that point. I can't even handle the grocery store on a Saturday morning so I'm sure I would have a massive panic attack in the middle of Target at 4 AM and end up curled in the fetal position crying.

We came home last night and it was a brisk 38 degrees in the house. No word on the heat exchanger yet. I slept in flannel pajamas and a sweatshirt (with the hood on, of course), under a fleece blanket, three quilts and a down comforter with Buddy laying across my feet to keep me warm. I slept well, but you know it's cold when you can see your breath...

When we got home last night Art was so excited because he was going to turn on the Christmas lights. I immediatly shot him down because he knows better (we go through this every year). In this house, Thanksgiving gets it's dues- I give the holiday the entire month of November. It gets cheated every year, especially this year, it seems, considering the stores had their Christmas paraphanalia out before Halloween. Besides, we still have a weeks worth of Thanksgiving leftovers so, in essence, we are still celebrating. I wait until December 1st to turn on the lights and to start decorating. I'm not sure Art agrees with my logic, but that's ok.

I need to go put another log on the fire; can't let it go out, seeing as it's our only source of heat at the moment. I hope everyone had a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving!
