When Art and I went to Canada in September, Buddy stayed at my parents house while we were gone. Like most grandparents, there are few rules in their house. While Buddy is allowed on the couch at our house, he is not allowed on the bed...or wasn't prior to his stay at Grandma's. How they can sleep in one bed with two dogs, I'll never know. The first night home, I got into bed and Buddy just jumped right in with me. We tried to break him of this habit and were more or less successful but just as we were making headway, we went to Minneapolis for Thanksgiving and he stayed with Grandma again and we have to start over.
We have a hard time keeping Buddy off the bed for several reasons:
1. He's so cute
2. We're pushovers
3. We're totally inconsistent
4. Buddy's manipulative and so sad looking when we tell him to get off
But Art doesn't like dog hair on his bed and I hate that Buddy has to be in contact with me at all times. He presses his whole body against me the entire night, preventing me from moving. He also snores and is an active dreamer complete with barking, whining and shaking (the first time it happened, I thought he was having a seizure).
I know this is easily fixed by me pulling up my big-girl pants and telling him to get off and stay off (he even has his own dog bed next to the bed and a couch downstairs so it's not like he's lacking for comfort). But let's see how well you do when he gives you his 'sad eyes' that is reminiscent of that scene in "Lady and the Tramp" with all the sad, deserted puppies.

(on clearance right now too)
Because that sad poochy face pretty much gets whatever it wants...but I hate vaccumming. Only problem with this is we have trouble convincing Bodi to get OUT of it occassionally.
