What a beautiful weekend! Even though they were calling for rain all weekend it was hot and sunny (my favorite combination), perfect weather for weeding and mowing. In just a few short days the weeds had taken over (thanks to all that rain we had) so I spent most of Saturday on my hands and knees; I even made Art help me. After about ten minutes he said, "this sucks!", and I told him I had been weeding the garden for six weeks and he's only been at it for ten minutes and quit his bitchin'. His excuse was that because his hands are so big he has extreme difficulty getting the weed out by the roots; my smaller hands are far more useful. I gave him points for his creative, yet delusional, excuse and told him to keep weeding. We laid old hay between each of the rows to help keep the weeds down, so we'll see how that goes. Anything to keep my weeding to a minimum is welcomed. I still wish I had my very own migrant worker.

What's this you ask? Well, it's what everyone needs in June- a snow blower! You may remember the guy from whom Art bought his beater truck and log-splitter. Art was helping him clean out his shop and picked up this tractor-attachable snow blower. He also came home with some other stuff, and right now I can't remember what they were but I'm sure Art would argue that they are extremely useful. So. Now we have a snow blower.

Looks like a dandy of a find. There will be a day when you will agree. I know one junk collector to another Art comes out pretty darn good on his finds. Maybe we should send the American Pickers to your house?
