Our chickens are getting old. By old, I mean 5 years old- they are scraggly and aren't laying very well, but they sure do eat a lot. It's time for a new batch but this year, we decided to order pullets instead of baby chicks [pullets are chickens that are about to start laying eggs]. We bought some pullets last year from some woman, but they all ended up sickly so I instead ordered from
The Cackle Hatchery. They will send our Rhode Island Red pullets within the next two weeks. Yes, chickens by mail. They send them by the US Postal Service and you pick them up at your local post office. It's true, look it up.
