I'm sure many of you are curious as to how one might shower in Loxahatchee. You connect a shower head (or in this case a hose sprinkler head) to a water line (whether it be from a well or a pond), wrap black insulating tubing around the water line and, finally, place a glass sliding door over top to transfer heat to the water line. Put this all together and you have Art's outdoor shower. He said it worked pretty well, although the water could get pretty cool in January and pretty hot in August. Never once did I use the outdoor shower; I'm more refined and used the actual shower in the trailer.
When Art originally built the shower, the water line ran directly from the pond to the shower. Occasionally he would have to clean out the shower head because it would get clogged with tadpoles. I'm completely serious. He did say his skin has never been so soft as it was back in the days of the outdoor shower.
