Deck the Halls

Christmas has officially arrived at the Pronk household. The lights are on (I'm a stickler for not turning my Christmas lights on until December first. Let Thanksgiving have it's time in the sun.) I bought new lights- LED's. I could say that I bought them because of the benefits to the environment and my electric bill, but I would be lying. Every year the act of stringing lights took at least two hours of trying figure out how to get everything plugged in and extension cords all over the deck, as you can only connect three strands of regular lights. With the LED lights, I could connect up to twenty-five strings! I was able to hang my lights quickly with no undue strain on my brain.

I also brought the Christmas tree up from the basement. Yes, it is a fake one, but listen, until last year, I have always bought a real tree. Either Art and I would go to the Lion's Christmas tree stand, or we would go to Kelly Christmas Tree Farm and cut one down. If any of my friends had a fake tree I would chastize them for having a 'fake Christmas'. But last year my concience got to me about all the trees being cut down and I started feeling really guilty (and yes I've heard the reports about how fake trees are even worse for the environment). But how could I get a fake tree after years of condemning them? My solution: A silver tinsel Christmas tree. Now here's my logic, it's rather convoluted, so try to pay attention. A fake tree that is in the image of a real tree (i.e. green or 'frosted' so as to appear that it snowed in your house) is not ok; whereas a fake tree that is supposed to look fake (i.e silver tinsel tree) is ok. Makes perfect sense, don't you think?
